Completely refurbished in 2021 / 2021 Survey in Hand
CAT C7.1 motors / Standard CAT Warranty begins with next owner
The Islander is a true one of a kind boat and and a rare blend of original classic lines and construction with modern power, fit, finish, equipment and technology. She was built in 1971 by Warren O'Neal as the Pee Wee and served as one of the first examples of what would begin the long line of shapes, bottom designs and profiles that evolved into many of the beautiful sportfishers that tie up all over the world. Capt. O'Neal was a mentor to nearly all of the old school boat builders in Dare County, NC and his influence still permeates the industry today.
When the current owner purchased the boat, he had a vision of what it could be to improve, strengthen and modernize this classic, all while staying true to the lines, looks, ride and fishability that this rig is so known for. What he wound up with is something special and fortunately for someone, a change in his plans is making this rig available now.
Everything on the boat is new except for the rudders, the windows and the wood she was built with...The entire interior of the hull was blasted to the wood and layers of glass were applied, inside and out. New Power, New running gear, electronic controls, new tanks, new wiring, new plumbing, new seacocks and thru hulls, new console, new electronics, new hardtop, curtains, cushions, new paint...everything. A 40' sports car of a boat built on a timeless, classic platform...She cruises easily at 27 knots burning 34gph, fishes like a 50 some footer and handles like a dream.
The interior was left clean and simple, practical for fishing and an easy base to add to or finish out however you'd like. This is one that you need to see, a definite head turner and a perfect rig for so many places...Make the trip to the Outer Banks and feast your eyes on the Islander. If you like boats she'll put a smile on your face...
